I will always remember your face,
The feel of your warm embrace;
The look of love in your eyes,
That you’d lied, was a big surprise.

All the hurt, the tears, the pain
The passion, romance in the rain,
The fact that it all went so bad,
Overrode all the love that we’d had!

It took me long years to forget,
The ghost keeps hounding me yet,
The memories of you loving me,
A love that was ne’er meant to be.

And now, I have started life anew,
I have uttered the vows, ‘I do’;
The past I am now forced to shed
Face strongly a new life ahead.

A life with a good man and true
Who will never hurt me like you
Time to put all my past behind
To brush all the webs off my mind.

To wipe clean and fresh the slate
With a man who is now my mate
Life holds a sweet promise for me
Though love’s blind, it set me free!
