SPOCKIE
My darling little Spockie,
I just love to hear you bark
You’re a soft, cuddly bundle
Of joy, you’ve made a mark
On each of our lives
And from the very start,
With your limpid brown eyes
You have stolen all our hearts.
You’ve chewed upon our shoes
More than you’ve chewed your chews,
Your head goes cutely to one side
Whene’er you spy something new!
You try real hard to frighten
Almost each and everyone,
But when they come close to you
You turn your tail and run!
We break into peals of laughter
Every time you get a scare
And scurry fast under the sofa
Trembling violently in fear!
When we sit to have our meal,
Your gaze never leaves our plate
And although you are proper fed
It’s not enough to satiate.
But you pull out all the stops
When it comes to your weekly bath,
You shake and quiver endlessly
It’s like an earthquake aftermath!
You’re such a lazy little dog,
You never want to exercise,
You sleep day in, you sleep day out
You’re far too fat for a doggie’s size!
Poor doggie, in our absence,
You sit down mournfully,
And when we walk in thro’ the door,
Your tail goes wagging furiously!
Such love as you have shown us
Our little Spockie dearest,
No human has bestowed on us
From farthest to our nearest!
