A LADY OF INDOMITABLE SPIRIT
We have an angel in heaven, dears
To pray for us all and wipe our tears
While she was here on earth
She assisted in our birth
Yes, our Nana Mary 🩷
Selfless, true, her blood surely blue🤣
In the royal British era, this lady she grew
She loved to play many pranks
But loved God more, giving thanks
Yes, our Nana Mary 💙
Her motto early to rise and early to bed
This discipline her grandchildren she fed
Spare the rod, you’ll spoil the child
Was the technique she applied
Yes, our Nana Mary 💚
We grew up following all she dictated
It’s true we loved her, yet sometimes hated
This Nana with the stern front
Yet, from whom stories, jokes we learnt
Yes, our Nana Mary 💜
She pampered us and yet she punished
She prayed with us and richly nourished
Though means were somewhat scarce
She provided, served and left no trace
Yes, our Nana Mary 💛
She loved selflessly, and never let us know
The burden of heavy responsibility she bore
Strong-willed, undefeated, but sure
Till the bitter end she would endure
Yes, our Nana Mary 🧡
Nana, we were young and scared to show
Our love, or our thankfulness to pour
At your feet as you richly deserved
Please forgive us, our being reserved
Please, our Nana Mary🩵
If today, suffering, we can still stand tall
It’s your strength, your refusal to let us fall
On your birthday, we send all our love
On the wings of a special white dove 🕊️
