Comparatively hard to forgive;

But infinitely hard to let live!

Easy to wreak revenge on a foe
Tryingly hard a true friend to gain;
Dirt easy to pile up your woe
Pretty hard to bear a little pain!

It’s easy to push on the blame
Hard to shoulder it without fear;
Easy to slander another’s name
Hard to lose what you hold so dear!

Ain’t so easy to open your heart
To let go of hurt and misgiving,
Yet it ain’t that hard to make a start
To learn the true art of forgiving!
