DEATH

Death, yes, you do have a sting
A requiem here to you I sing
You visit in stealth of day or night
Leave one no room for you to fight;

You put an end to unscaled dreams,
You even vanquish deadly schemes
You hold a young one to your breast
A long-lived life comes to your rest.

Each moment draws us nearer to you
There’s just no way to evade what’s true
How can life reckon around a bend
Is a furtive foe, who’ll ne’er be friend!

You leave no stone you do not turn,
Once faced by you, there’s no return
Yet, the body’s dead, spirit’s alive I sing
In that, dear death, WHERE IS YOUR STING?

God’s plan very well explained in few lines.
Everyone is aware that “Each moment draws us nearer to you” but very beautifully described in last para the real meaning of “DEATH”

Enjoyed listening and reading , making me too sing death where is your sting. This sweet little poem is a lovely reminder that we are not mere bodies.

Your poem “Death” is a very wonderful and hard-hitting poem, dear sis Lola, and you have done full justice to it. You have shown us how Death brings a sure end to our mortal bodies, but it cannot touch our spirits which will soar to Heaven and live forever, with God the Father, God the son, Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit. Thanks for writing and beautifully reciting this lovely poem. Lots of love, hugs and prayers. Your sis Lucy.

    • Loretta says:
