GOD IS THE ONLY CONSTANT!

When God created the vast earth, filling it with all manner of foliage, trees, animals, some fruit-laden and fit for consumption, it was evident He would form a superior being, molded in His image, to rule and hold dominion over all creation. God then gave him a companion thus forming the foundation of family. He blessed them with the command to multiply and fill the earth, thus starting the concept of community, bonding in love, living God’s word.

God has the absolute attributes of Omniscience, Omnipresence and Omnipotence and is the Infallible Lord of us all. We need to fear and reverence the Lord, Who has saved us from Satanic bondage, to which humans had succumbed, thus sinning and falling short of God’s glory. In his unconditional love, God uplifted and instructed us, through the Son and the Holy Spirit, and our only mission as his elite, chosen ones, is to spread the Good News of his Kingdom, and its eternal salvation.

It is well said that, ‘A family that prays together stays together’. It makes apparent the first vital need of a family to pray – together – daily, without fail. When we seek God’s graces unitedly, there is bonding, and sharing of that grace. Thus, it is imperative to inculcate in our young ones, old-school moral and behavioral values. If the foundation is firm, the structure remains firm too. Our God is alive and His word should be our living testament.

In social gatherings, we need to reflect Christ in both words and actions. Only with the Spirit of discernment and discretion, will we be able to face all challenging situations adequately. In today’s world we often notice, that what seems to be, is not what is. Take social media for instance. It is a virtual world, which today, occupies most of our time. But how much value does it have in our real lives? Does it contribute to or take away essential community values?

Do families continue upholding the sacredness of marriage? Are children being ingrained with spiritual and positive values and culture? Family tradition, as seeds of God’s Word, should be imbibed and treasured in homes. But due to the impact of globalization, society has become a combination of cultures, changing moral and religious beliefs, and the very structure of marriage and family. Strong kinship and family centeredness are gradually diminishing.

Inter-faith marriages challenge normal functioning and adjustment, affecting extended and nuclear families. Modern amenities are further distancing people. Communication issues have taken a heavy toll on community bonds. In an ever-changing world, GOD IS the only ‘CONSTANT’.

We need to foster a growing realization that the family has to be the focus of integral evangelization. Sacred Scripture should become the framework of life, solidarity and mission. Man is the very pinnacle of God’s zealous, creative genius. We need to honor our commission of uniting the world under One, EverLiving God, through Whom we have emerged and to Whom we will ultimately return. That is the only Truth and the only goal towards which we are united, in a Covenantal Love, for His Greater Glory.
